We are a Martial Arts & Fitness studio specialize in teaching Jeff Speakman's American Kenpo Karate 5.0 as an authorized Franchise Charter School. In today's environment being able to defend oneself is of vital importance to everyone. JSK 5.0 Montebello is dedicated to teaching practical and realistic Self Defense for Adults, Kids, Teens & Families. We have classes for as young as 4 1/2 years old.

Kenpo 5.0 is a comprehensive mixed martial art system focused on self defense and designed with one purpose in mind – you are your welfare.

Kenpo provides a strong integrated syllabus for adults and children. The depth of knowledge within the system means that the learning never stops for the student. We teach Kenpo 5.0 to all ages and levels of physical ability.

Kenpo is a self defense system first and foremost. We focus on street wise self defense, teaching each individual to utilize their own body structure to be as an effective weapon as possible. Kenpo employs the use of concepts and principles of motion such as physics, geometry and mathematics to assist with learning the system.

We encourage an environment of mutual respect. Self esteem develops in students as they gain self confidence in their strengths and abilities. Team work and discipline are central to the ‘Kenpo’ family.

WHAT IS JEFF SPEAKMAN’S KENPO 5.0?

Kenpo 5.0 is a highly effective Mixed Martial Art (MMA) combining American Kenpo Karate with elements of grappling and ground fighting into a formidable self defense system.

This system was developed by Mr Jeff Speakman (taught by Senior Grand Master Mr Ed Parker) and Mr Trevor Sherman (senior student of Mr Speakman and experienced ground fighter) in response to the changing style of street fighting. What Kenpo needed was an effective ground fighting module to be incorporated into the original art form. Kenpo 5.0 was born.

This exciting new system for kids, teens & adults allows the students to develop within the mind, body and spirit paradigm of a true martial fighter.
